It's back-to-school time for teachers, students, and parents, which means anxiety, excitement, changing schedules, and lots of new experiences. In my classes I talk a lot about being okay with discomfort. This is certainly a good time to practice that, if you are dealing with back-to-school stress. But remember that I also talk about being kind to yourself. So, along with getting comfortable with being uncomfortable, it is important to take a step back, take a break when you need, and take time to care for yourself. For those of you who have children, remember that they see everything you do. If you model self-care, they will see it as an important part of life and learn to care for themselves.
